As a Friend, as an Equal Partner of Sudan


 
Japan has provided "Official Development Assistance (ODA)" to Sudan, which has amounted to over US$ 1.2 billion since 2005 through both bilateral and multilateral channels.

It includes 56 General Grant Assistance Projects, 53 Grant Assistance for Grassroots and Human Security Projects (GGP), Technical Assistance, dispatch of more than 600 Japanese experts, 23 Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV), and acceptance of around 1,450 Sudanese trainees in Japan. In addition to the provision of the ODA, our partnership has been extended into the fields of culture, sports, education, trade and investment.

Japan's ODA Consultation Desk on Fraud and Corruption

In order to prevent fraud and corruption in Official Development Assistance (ODA), we provide
a consultation service for information related to fraud and corruption in Japan’s ODA projects.

 

Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP)

The Government of Japan invites interested NGOs working in Sudan to apply for the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) Programme for Sudan. GGP is a flexible and timely funding scheme which supports community level socio-economic development projects initiated by civil society organizations addressing people's Basic Human Needs (BHNs).

Country Assistance Program for Sudan

A "Country Assistance Program" is a document which lays down Japan's country-specific aid policy effective for a period of about five years, with a view to further enhancing strategic value, efficiency, transparency and accountability of ODA.
