Press Release: New Japanese Government Scholarship Students Expressed their Wishes to Japan

On 9th of March 2015, a number of Sudanese alumni students of the Japanese Government scholarship gathered at the Japanese Ambassador’s residence to celebrate their annual reunion and to welcome 4 newly-selected Sudanese postgraduate students, who expressed their enthusiasm for their research in Japan.
 
H.E. Mr. Hideki Ito, Ambassador of Japan to Sudan said, “Sudan and Japan have deepened academic exchanges through the Japanese Government scholarship program and all the ex-scholarship students are currently utilizing their knowledge gained while pursuing their degrees in various sectors in Sudan and all around the globe. These ex-scholarship students are working as bridge-builders between the two friendly nations”. Ambassador Ito further added that the postgraduate scholarships provided to Sudan is a successful example of the diversified cooperation that augments the three pillars of Japanese assistance to Sudan, namely (1) agricultural development (2) assistance for basic human needs such as water, health, vocational training and environment, and (3) consolidation of peace.
 
Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) in Japan offers scholarships to Sudanese students who wish to study in post-graduate courses at the Japanese universities annually. This program has started via the Embassy of Japan in Sudan since 1970s and a number of Sudanese students have received their PhD & Master’s degrees from the Japanese universities. They are exerting their utmost efforts for the development and prosperity of Sudan and transferring the Japanese scientific knowledge and cultural experiences for the benefit of Sudan.
 
It is worth mentioning that the application for the Japanese Government Scholarships 2016 will be open in late April, 2015. Information will be announced on the Embassy’s web site:
